This master class will be of interest to craftsmen who are already familiar with making carved candles, but want to improve their skills and try something new. We will tell you how to make an original carved candle with a blank from scraps.

Step 1. When making carved candles, there are a lot of scraps left, you need to prepare them. It is desirable that they are small pieces. To do this, they can be sliced while still warm. If the moment is missed, you can heat the trimmings a little in the oven to soften them again and chop them.

Step 2. Pour some trimmings into the mold to form the first layer. It is important to use a form that is not afraid of high temperatures (metal or heat-resistant plastic).

Step 3. Tamp down the trims with a stick so there is not much space between them.

Step 4. Heat the clippings with a hair dryer. We use a hair dryer at a temperature of 300 degrees. You can use a regular hair dryer, but it will take much longer. We heat the cuttings until they begin to melt and form a uniform layer. This is especially important so that the blank does not crumble in the future during cutting. And so we fill the form layer by layer.

Step 5. When the shape is filled in, melt the last layer a little harder. Then let the candle cool down well.

Step 6. The clippings contain a high concentration of dye. a high content of dye tends to extinguish the flame, a candle made of scraps will burn poorly. Therefore, we make a wide hole in the candle with a special drill (we do not get the candle out of the mold).

Step 7. Set the wick to the center of the drilled hole.

Step 8. Melt the candle mass in a water bath (90% paraffin, 10% stearin) and pour into the mold so as to slightly cover the candle. When the candle is completely frozen, place it in the freezer for 15-20 minutes and it will easily come out of the mold.
